Fanart and fanfics are not legal but are an exception since they are seen as a positive way to create a fanbase. If Viz or the authors thinks this site is defamatory to the image of Death Note then they have the legal rights and backing to shut down this site.

We are talking about the internet. The internet is searchable. TOO searchable. And if Death Note Online is back again, it'll be big news to the last actives who will definitly pass the info to others and they will pass it to others too. The internet is not a good place to hide something, altough it is possible.
I wonder if there is any just solution about the copyrights? I mean what about the tons of fanart people draw?
